Our research areas

We design, fabricate and characterise innovative lipid-based and hybrid nanocarriers for targeted drug delivery, advanced bioimaging (including MRI) and combined diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications.

We develop intelligent biomaterials, including functional hydrogels and tissue-engineering scaffolds, to promote tissue repair and regeneration (e.g. in cardiac conditions) and wound healing.

We employ Cryo-TEM, NMR, SAXS and other advanced imaging and scattering techniques to analyse the structure and dynamics of soft matter systems.

We engineer targeted nanomedicines, including systems for cancer therapy (e.g. glioblastoma), antibacterial approaches against resistant strains, and therapies for neurodegenerative and cardiovascular disorders.
